SC//HyperCore User Guide

This guide covers day-to-day operation of the SC//HyperCore™ HyperVisor. It runs from initial registration through managing virtual machines, snapshots, replication, and ongoing cluster administration. The guide is organized by task area. Start with the section that matches what you’re trying to do, or, if you’re new to the platform, work through it from top to bottom.

  • Setup — initial login, registration, SSL certificates, single sign-on, and two-node clusters with a local witness.
  • Users — access control concepts and day-to-day user account management.
  • Virtual Machines — creating, editing, managing, and removing VMs, including devices, tags, and best practices.
  • Snapshots — how snapshots work, taking and deleting them, and snapshot schedules.
  • Administration — system monitoring, capacity, storage, node lifecycle, maintenance tasks, and replication.
  • Support — what to do when hardware fails and how to get help from Scale Computing Support.
  • SC//Fleet Manager — how SC//Fleet™ Manager complements the SC//HyperCore system for cluster registration, multi-cluster monitoring, remote access, and updates.
  • Installation — installing and initializing SC//HyperCore nodes, from first boot through cluster initialization.
  • Security and Compliance — how the SC//HyperCore platform is designed, built, and operated to keep your workloads safe, and the shared responsibility model.
  • Advanced Topics — in-depth technical documentation on how the SC//HyperCore software works internally.
  • Third-Party Integrations — setup and quickstart guidance for supported backup and data protection products.
  • SC//HyperCore Software Support Guide — support scope, licensing, release support policy, product lifecycle, requirements, browser support, and replication version compatibility.
  • Known Issues and Troubleshooting — expected behaviors, known limitations, and workarounds that aren’t specific to a single release.
