Generating QR codes for new builds
Before a batch of nodes ships, you can generate and print QR codes for their Edge Install Monitor installation URLs at the build bench, after the Jenkins build pipeline has finished provisioning the units. Scanning a code takes the on-site installer directly to that node's mobile-friendly status page. For more information, see Using the Edge Install Monitor.
Generating a batch of QR codes
- From the Nodes index page, open the Actions dropdown and choose Batch QR Codes.
-
In the dialog, enter the node numbers (store numbers) you want QR codes for, then choose Generate QR Code.
You can find a node's number on its node page, labeled Node Number. It's also present in the node's hostname: it's the digits between the customer code and the node group's role. For example, for the hostname
sit0001red0(customer codesit, group rolered), the node number is0001. -
The results page splits the nodes into two lists.
List Description Nodes with Active URL The token is enabled and not expired. QR codes for these nodes are ready to print. Nodes with Inactive URL The token is disabled or expired. Select the node's hostname from this list to open its node page, where you can re-enable the URL or generate a new one. -
Print the QR codes for the active section. Cluster members are grouped together on the page and in print output.
To return to this screen later for the same set of nodes, use https://platform.reliant.io/<customer_code>/nodes/edge_install/qrcodes?store_numbers[]=<store_number>.
