SC//Nexus overview

SC//Nexus™ is Scale Computing's unified identity platform. It gives you a single login experience across the Scale Computing products your organization uses: you authenticate once through your identity provider, and SC//Nexus opens every product your organization is entitled to from one place.

Where to start

  • If you're setting up SC//Nexus access for your organization, start with Onboarding your organization to SC//Nexus. It describes the work you do in your identity provider and the work Scale Computing does to create your organization.
  • If your organization is already set up, see Signing in to SC//Nexus for how to sign in and open your Scale Computing products.

One login for every Scale Computing product

Scale Computing products have traditionally been reached individually, each with its own sign-in and its own credentials to maintain. SC//Nexus replaces that with a single login. You sign in once, and the Your applications page lists the products provisioned to your organization, with an Access now control that takes you straight into each one.

Because the page reflects what your organization is entitled to, it stays current as your organization's subscriptions change. If your organization adds a product, it appears on the same page, under the same sign-in, without any new credentials to set up.

Signing in with your own identity provider

SC//Nexus is built to federate with your organization's existing identity provider using SAML 2.0, so members sign in with the same corporate credentials, multi-factor enforcement, and access policies your organization already manages. Scale Computing supports commonly used identity providers, including Okta, JumpCloud, OneLogin, Google, Microsoft Entra, and Duo Single Sign-On.

With federation in place, your identity provider handles authentication and any conditional access policies you enforce, such as device posture, geo-restriction, or step-up authentication. SC//Nexus then determines which products you can open, based on what your organization is entitled to. For how members sign in, see Signing in to SC//Nexus. For how access is set up for your organization, see Onboarding your organization to SC//Nexus.

Organizations and entitlements

Every customer using SC//Nexus is set up as an organization. An organization defines two things: the identity provider its members sign in through, and the products and accounts it's entitled to reach. Scale Computing configures your organization when you're onboarded to SC//Nexus, using the identity provider details your administrator provides. For the full onboarding process, see Onboarding your organization to SC//Nexus.

Products available through SC//Nexus

SC//Nexus provides unified sign-in for SC//AcuVigil™ and SC//Reliant™ Platform Manager, and Scale Computing is extending it to additional products over time. The Your applications page lists the platforms your own organization is entitled to rather than the full set, so an organization entitled to both products sees both.
