Add or Remove ISO Files

This page explains how to upload ISO files to a cluster running SC//HyperCore™ HyperVisor and how to remove them from the Media tab.

Add an ISO File

A newly initialized system will require operating system ISO files for VM creation. The Scale Computing Guest Agent Tools VirtIO driver package will be available by default. ISOs are managed by the Media tab in the Control Center.

  • Ensure the file type is actually an *.iso, not simply renamed as one. The system will reject any formats aside from ISO files with no error message. The system will also inform you if you attempt to upload a duplicate ISO file.
  • Drag and drop the file from the original location to anywhere on the SC//HyperCore web interface. You do not need to have the Media tab open. Alternatively, use the +Upload button to select the file from an existing location.
  • The Media tab will immediately open if it is not already open so that upload progress can be monitored. The upload can be canceled from this view by clicking the Cancel button.

Remove an ISO File

Removing an ISO file from the system is easy through the Media tab.

  1. Navigate to the Media tab.
  2. Locate the ISO file to be deleted.
  3. Click Delete next to the ISO file that should be deleted.

There is no confirmation to delete an ISO file; it will be immediately removed. The SC//HyperCore system will prevent an ISO that is currently mounted on a VM from being deleted, in order to protect VM integrity. Any mounted ISO will not have the option for a Delete button. You can monitor how many times an ISO is mounted under the Mounts column in the Media tab.
