The Automated Tank Gauge application gives you visibility into your fuel tanks in SC//AcuVigil™ and includes options for exporting tank data to third-party services. The real-time display includes tank volume, capacity, alarms, and more.
Where to find it
To see this application's reports and company-wide settings for all your sites, select Tanks from the Apps menu. The page is titled Automated Tank Gauge.
Features
- View the status of tank gauges connected to the edge security device (ESD) through a serial or IP interface.
- Connect directly to a tank gauge over VPN, or through port forwarding set up with security policies.
- See alarm status in the SC//AcuVigil dashboard.
- Run any tank report on demand, or schedule it for delivery by email.
- See inventory levels at all sites (Stick Report).
- See all maintenance and inventory alarms at all sites (Alarm Report).
- See delivery reports at supported sites (Delivery Report).
- Export tank data to third-party services through export applications.
Supported ATGs
In the Model/Protocol setting, you can choose these ATG models:
- AutoStick
- Caldwell
- Franklin Fueling EVO 200
- Gilbarco Veeder-Root TLS 2, TLS 250, TLS 300, TLS 350, EMC, TLS 450, and Simplicity
- Incon TS-550, TS-750, TS-1000, TS-1001, TS-2001, TS-5000, and TS-1500
- Pneumercator TMS 3000
- Red Jacket
- Simmons 650
Depending on the model, you choose the VR2xx or VR3xx protocol. For models that support only one protocol, the protocol is set automatically.
Installing the Automated Tank Gauge application
Prerequisites
Connect the ATG hardware to your store network, or to the ESD through a serial connection.
Install the application
Scale Computing installs applications on your sites. To have the Automated Tank Gauge application installed, contact Scale Computing Support and tell them which sites need it. Open a ticket in the SC//AcuVigil dashboard, email team@scalecomputing.com, or call (512) 687-7401.
After the application is installed, a Tanks tab appears on the site's Status page.
Configuring the application
Scale Computing configures the application for you. To view the current settings, open the site's Status page, choose the Tanks tab, and then choose Settings. To change a setting, add or remove an ATG, or change tank labels, contact Scale Computing Support with the site and the change you want.
The settings cover how often SC//AcuVigil reads the tanks, how each ATG is reached (model and protocol, host, port, and optional security code), temperature correction, clock sync, tank labels, and PDI RMS integration. For each field, see the Tanks tab.
Note: A site supports a maximum of 12 tanks in total, counted across every ATG at that site. Auto-Sync Clock, which lets the network change the ATG's clock, requires a contract amendment before it can be turned on. |
Tank labels
Labels you enter appear only in the SC//AcuVigil display and reports. They aren't sent to export applications. Export files use the labels programmed into the ATG.
If the labels are programmed into the ATG, SC//AcuVigil can usually read them from ATGs that use the VR2xx or VR3xx protocol. We recommend capitalized labels such as these:
| Product | Suggested label |
|---|---|
| E85 or 85 octane | ETHANOL |
| Unleaded or 87 octane | REGULAR |
| Mid grade or 89–91 octane | MIDGRADE or PLUS |
| Premium or 91–93 octane | PREMIUM, V-POWER, or SUPER |
| Diesel | DIESEL |
Viewing tank data
On the site's Status page, the Tanks tab has these views:
- Current Status: a card for each tank with its product label, fill level, gallons left, water inches, capacity, height, and temperature. Below the cards, you see the ATG's address, clock time, clock settings, software version, and the status of each installed export application.
- Deliveries: the most recent fuel deliveries, with start and end volumes, times, and temperatures.
- Tank Log: a timestamped log of tank readings.
- Settings: the configuration described in Configuring the application.
For more about this tab, see Tanks.
