There are two ways to sign in to the SC//AcuVigil™ dashboard, depending on how your organization was set up:
| Method | Who uses it | How it works |
|---|---|---|
| SC//Nexus™ single sign-on (SSO) | New customers, and existing customers who have been onboarded to SC//Nexus. | You sign in with your organization's identity provider, such as Okta, Microsoft Entra, or Google, using your corporate credentials. SC//Nexus handles the sign-in with SAML. There's no separate SC//AcuVigil password or 2FA token. |
| SC//AcuVigil username, password, and 2FA token | Existing customers who haven't been onboarded to SC//Nexus. | You sign in on the SC//AcuVigil sign-in page with your email address, your SC//AcuVigil password, and a one-time code from an authenticator application. |
Both methods open the same SC//AcuVigil dashboard. If you aren't sure which one your organization uses, ask your company's SC//AcuVigil administrator or contact Scale Computing Support.
Signing in with SC//Nexus single sign-on
SC//Nexus is Scale Computing's single sign-on for SC//AcuVigil and SC//Reliant™ platform manager. Your organization's administrator sets it up once with Scale Computing, connecting it to the identity provider your organization already uses. New customers are set up during onboarding. To set up SC//Nexus for your organization, see Onboarding your organization to SC//Nexus in the SC//Nexus User Guide, or contact Scale Computing Support.
Important: The email address you sign in to SC//Nexus with must match the email address on your SC//AcuVigil account. If they don't match, SC//Nexus can't open SC//AcuVigil for you. Watch for differences such as a different domain or alias. |
After SC//Nexus is set up, you can start signing in from either of two places. Both use the same SC//Nexus SSO sign-in.
From the SC//Nexus portal
- Go to https://nexus.scalecomputing.com.
- Enter your email address.
-
Select Sign in with your identity provider, and sign in at your identity provider as you usually do.
SC//Nexus opens the Your applications page.
-
Next to SC//AcuVigil, select Access now.
The SC//AcuVigil dashboard opens without a second sign-in.
While your SC//Nexus session is active, you can bookmark SC//AcuVigil pages or open them directly, and move between Scale Computing products without signing in again. For example, sites with SC//Reliant hardware have a View in SC//Reliant Platform link on the Site status page that opens the same location in SC//Reliant platform manager.
Tip: If SC//Nexus asks for a password instead of offering your identity provider, it couldn't match your email address to an organization. Check the address for typos. For more help, see Signing in to SC//Nexus in the SC//Nexus User Guide. |
From the SC//AcuVigil sign-in page (Login with SSO)
Login with SSO on the SC//AcuVigil sign-in page takes you straight to SC//AcuVigil without opening the SC//Nexus portal. It isn't a separate sign-in method: it uses the same SAML sign-in that was configured through SC//Nexus, so it works only after your organization has been set up for SC//Nexus, and the same email address rule applies.
- Go to https://acuvigil.acumera.net.
-
Select Login with SSO.
The SSO Login page opens.
-
Enter your email address, and then select Login with SSO.
-
Sign in at your identity provider as you usually do.
The SC//AcuVigil dashboard opens.
Signing in with a username, password, and 2FA token
If your organization hasn't been onboarded to SC//Nexus, you sign in with an SC//AcuVigil account and two-factor authentication (2FA).
Before you begin
- Get an SC//AcuVigil account. Ask your company's SC//AcuVigil administrator, or email team@scalecomputing.com. After your account is created, your sign-in information is sent to the email address you registered.
- Install an authenticator application on your phone. Each time you sign in, you enter your password and a one-time code: a 6-digit number that changes every 30 seconds and can be used only once. The authenticator application generates this code. Scale Computing recommends Google Authenticator, but any application that follows RFC 6238 works. Install it before you sign in for the first time, because you add your SC//AcuVigil account to it during your first sign-in.
- iPhone: Google Authenticator on the App Store
- Android: Google Authenticator on Google Play
You can reach the SC//AcuVigil sign-in page by going to https://acuvigil.acumera.net, or from scalecomputing.com by selecting Login and then SC//AcuVigil™ Dashboard.
Signing in for the first time
- Open the welcome email that SC//AcuVigil sent to your registered email address, and select the sign-in link. You can also go directly to https://acuvigil.acumera.net.
- Enter the sign-in details from your welcome email, and then select Login. Type them carefully, because copying and pasting from an email might not work correctly.
- Email: your email address (the username in your welcome email)
- Password: the temporary password from your welcome email
- 2FA Token: the temporary 2FA token from your welcome email
- Create a new, strong password when prompted. Your new password must:
- Be 12 or more characters long.
- Include at least one number (0-9).
- Include at least one uppercase letter (A-Z).
- Include at least one lowercase letter (a-z).
- Include at least one special character from this list:
! " # $ % & ' ( ) * , - @ [ ] ^ _ { }.
- Add your account to your authenticator application using the unique 2FA key shown on screen:
- Open Google Authenticator or your chosen authenticator application.
- Tap the + icon, or a similar option to add a new account.
- Choose one of these options:
- Scan a barcode: if a QR code is displayed on your screen, tap this option and point your phone's camera at the QR code. This is the quickest method.
- Enter a setup key: type "SC//AcuVigil" as the account name, then carefully enter the 2FA key shown on your screen. Use this option if you can't scan the QR code, for example if your authenticator application runs on the same computer you're signing in from.
- Enter the 6-digit code that the application displays into the box on the sign-in page. The code refreshes every 30 seconds, so if it changes before you finish typing, enter the new code instead.
- Select Next to finish setting up 2FA.
Signing in on later visits
- Go to https://acuvigil.acumera.net.
- In Email and Password, enter your email address and password.
- Open the authenticator application on your phone and find your SC//AcuVigil entry.
- In 2FA Token, enter the current 6-digit code, and then select Login.
If you forget your password
- On the SC//AcuVigil sign-in page, select Reset password.
- Enter your email address, and then select Proceed.
- Follow the instructions you receive.
After six failed sign-in attempts, SC//AcuVigil locks your account. An SC//AcuVigil administrator in your company can unlock it. For details, see Unlocking a user.
