Remote Job Execution (RJE)
Remote Job Execution (RJE) is a service that allows commands to be executed on a node from a remote location, eliminating the need to log into the node directly. RJE may be used by the SC//Reliantâ„¢ API, the SC//Reliant Platform Manager, and the management plane to trigger actions.
RJE is the underlying mechanism behind many of the platform's centralized operations: configuration changes, package updates, container deployments, snapshot and backup jobs, cluster maintenance commands, and other tasks initiated centrally are dispatched to one or more target nodes through RJE. Each call returns a job ID that can be polled for status and payload, providing an auditable record of the action.
When RJE is used
- Operations initiated from the SC//Reliant Platform Manager that need to execute on a specific node or set of nodes.
- API jobs created against the SC//Reliant API (for example, RVC jobs).
- Management-plane automation triggering periodic tasks across the fleet.
