The Web Filter tab displays the status of the WebFilter application (Web Filter Service) running on the SC//AcuVigil™ edge security device (ESD). Web Filter Service provides proxy and DNS-based filtering that limits internet access at the site. Use this tab to check that the proxy server is working and to see how much traffic passed through it in the last hour.
For an overview of the application, see WebFilter.
Application description: Proxy server status.
Supported ESD models: MG3, SG1v1, SG2v1, XG1v1, VG

The default sub-view. Shows the proxy server status.

Note: Scale Computing manages these settings as part of the managed service. You can view them here. To request a change, contact Scale Computing Support: open a ticket in the SC//AcuVigil dashboard, email team@scalecomputing.com, or call (512) 687-7401. |
Sets how site traffic reaches the web filter and which clients and domains bypass it. Filtering policies aren't set here.
An info banner shows where the configuration comes from, for example:
Using company default configuration.
| Field | Type | Options | Tooltip or description |
|---|---|---|---|
| Mode | Dropdown | Proxy, Direct | How site traffic reaches the web filter. |
| PSK | Text | — | The pre-shared key for the connection to the web filter service. Treat it as a secret. |
| Proxy Endpoint | Text | IP address or prefix | The address of the proxy, for example 192.0.2.10. |
| Proxy Segments | Multi-select | The site's segments | The segments whose traffic goes through the proxy. |
| Proxy Bypass Clients | Multi-select | The site's devices | "Bypasses the proxy for specific source (client) devices on the local network." |
| Proxy Bypass Domains | Text area | One domain per line | "Bypasses the proxy when users attempt to connect to specific destination domains." For example, example.com. |
| Update Settings | Button | — | Saves the settings and applies them to the ESD. |
Note: A settings change applies to the live site right away. Removing a segment from Proxy Segments stops filtering for that segment. |
What to look for
- Proxy = Operational — normal healthy state.
- Last Hour Bandwidth (bytes) above 0 during business hours — confirms site traffic is passing through the proxy.
