The Scale Computing™ VG is a virtual edge security device (ESD). Instead of a separate appliance, it runs as a virtual machine on SC//Reliant or SC//HyperCore at the site, and does the same job as a hardware ESD: it's the site's firewall and gateway, and it connects the site to SC//AcuVigil™.
VG variants
| Variant | Tile shows | LAN interfaces |
|---|---|---|
| VGMv1 | VGM 04… |
One (LAN) |
| VGLv1 | VGL 05… |
Two (LAN1 and LAN2) |
Applications on the VG
The VG runs the same platform as the XG1v1, so most applications that support the XG1v1 also support the VG. Applications that depend on XG1v1 hardware, such as Integrated Cellular and Integrated WiFi, aren't available on the VG. Each application's page lists the models it supports.
On a VGMv1, the ARP Host tab shows the status of the host system.
High availability
High availability is available for the VG in beta: two VGs run as a failover pair. See High Availability (HA).
Getting a VG
