POS Services tab

The POS Services tab displays the status of the POS Services application running on the SC//AcuVigil™ edge security device (ESD). POS Services monitors and manages supported POS systems, including the Verifone Commander and the Gilbarco Passport. Use this tab to review POS status and configure the service settings.

The tab shows the status of the POS systems the application manages, and the settings for this site. For an overview of the application, see POS Services.

Application description: Monitors and manages supported POS systems.

Status sub-view

The default sub-view. Shows a Verifone Commander table with one row for each Commander POS the application manages.

Device Name The device name of the Commander POS.
Reachable Whether the ESD can reach the Commander on the network.
Base Version The software base version running on the Commander.
Last Login When the application last logged in to the Commander.

Settings sub-view

Note: Scale Computing manages these settings as part of the managed service. You can view them here. To request a change, contact Scale Computing Support: open a ticket in the SC//AcuVigil dashboard, email team@scalecomputing.com, or call (512) 687-7401.

An info banner at the top shows which configuration the site uses. For example:

Using company default configuration.

This means the site inherits its POS Services configuration from the company account rather than using site-specific settings.

Important: The Settings sub-view shows the POS account credentials. Treat these values as sensitive: don't share them, and don't take screenshots of this view unless the credentials are hidden.

Saving the settings

When Scale Computing saves a change with Update Settings, it's applied to the ESD.

Note: A settings change applies to the live site right away.

What to look for

  1. "Using company default configuration" — normal for most sites. Site-specific overrides appear when a site has been customized.
  2. Reachable and Login Successful — if either shows a failure for a Commander, check the Commander's network connection and the HTTP Username and HTTP Password settings.
  3. Password Expires (Days) — a low value means the Commander account password expires soon. If Password Rotation isn't enabled, plan to update the password.
