The PAR Retail Loyalty tab displays the status of the PAR Retail Loyalty application running on the SC//AcuVigil™ edge security device (ESD). PAR Retail Loyalty enables secure connections between POS systems and PAR Retail Loyalty servers. Use this tab to verify firewall rule health, check FQDN resolution, and confirm which devices are registered.
The tab shows the application's firewall rules, mode, endpoint resolution, registered devices, and settings for this site. For an overview of the application, see PAR Retail Loyalty.
Application description: Enable secure connections between POS Systems and PAR Retail Loyalty servers.
Supported ESD models: MG3, SG1v1, SG2v1, XG1v1, VG
Layout
The PAR Retail Loyalty tab has a standard app header and two sub-views: Status and Settings. The default sub-view is Status.
Header
| Element | Description |

Status sub-view
The default sub-view. Contains four sections: Firewall rules, a mode indicator, FQDNs, and Registered Devices.
Firewall rules table
A table of iptables FORWARD rules managed by the PAR Retail Loyalty application. Read-only. Documents the rules that permit POS devices to reach PAR Retail Loyalty endpoints on TCP ports 4109, 4110, and 4113.
| Column | Description |
|---|---|
| Firewall | The iptables chain: FORWARD. |
| Chain | Internal chain name. |
| Packets | Count of packets matched by this rule since last reset. |
| Bytes | Count of bytes matched by this rule since last reset. |
| Target | Rule action: ACCEPT. |
| Protocol | Network protocol: TCP. |
| In | Incoming interface filter. * means any. |
| Out | Outgoing interface filter. * means any. |
| Source | Source IP address (registered POS device IP). |
| Destination | Destination IP or IP set (loyalty server). |
| Notes | Additional match criteria, typically multiport dports 4109,4110,4113 match-set <fqdn> dst. |
Mode indicator
Mode: <mode>
Shows the current mode: Production or Test. You set the mode in the Settings sub-view.
FQDNs table
Lists the DNS names used by PAR Retail Loyalty and their currently resolved IP addresses.
| Column | Description |
|---|---|
| FQDN | Fully qualified domain name for a PAR Retail Loyalty endpoint. The FQDN identifies the brand and environment (for example, gateway.example.oc.ai or gateway.stage.example.oc.ai). |
| Addresses | One or more IP addresses currently resolved for that FQDN. |
A status line: fqdnd running: Yes confirms the FQDN daemon is operational.
Registered devices table
Lists POS devices registered to this application. The app auto-populates this table by matching device types set in the Devices tab.
| Column | Description |
|---|---|
| Name | Device name as registered in Device Manager. |
| Device Type | The device type classification (for example, Commander or PassportEPS). |
| IP Address | Current IP address of the registered device. |
A note below the table:
Registered devices are automatically assigned using the Device Type setting under the device registration tab. If you do not see any registered devices, please assign the correct Device Type under the Devices tab. The app will pick up the changes within the next few minutes. Supported device types are: Commander, CommanderNICA, Passport, PassportEPS, Comdata SmartDesk, Comdata SmartSolutions. |
To register a device with PAR Retail Loyalty, set its device type to one of these supported types on the Devices tab.
Settings sub-view
Note: Scale Computing manages these settings as part of the managed service. You can view them here. To request a change, contact Scale Computing Support: open a ticket in the SC//AcuVigil dashboard, email team@scalecomputing.com, or call (512) 687-7401. |
Loads the first time you select Settings. An info banner at the top shows which configuration the site uses. For example:
Using global default configuration.
This means the site uses the default PAR Retail Loyalty configuration rather than site-specific settings.
| Field | Type | Options | Description |
|---|---|---|---|
| Mode | Dropdown | Production, Test | Controls which PAR Retail Loyalty environment the application connects to. Production connects to the live loyalty platform; Test connects to the test environment. |
| Update Settings | Button | — | Saves the settings and applies them to the ESD. |
Note: A settings change applies to the live site right away. |
What to look for
fqdnd running: Yes— ifNo, the app cannot resolve loyalty server endpoints.- Mode = Production on a live site —
Testmode routes to staging loyalty servers, not the live platform. - Registered Devices populated — if empty on an active site, check Device Types in the Devices tab.
- Packets > 0 on FORWARD rules — confirms loyalty traffic is flowing from registered POS devices.
