SC//HyperCore 9.7 adds support for 17th-generation Dell PowerEdge servers and AMD EPYC™ 9004 and 9005 processors, SR-IOV for the NVIDIA® L4 GPU, and two-node clusters with a witness. Each release in the branch has its own page.
Product: SC//HyperCore · Branch: 9.7
Major features
- Dell PowerEdge™ 17th-generation servers, including the Dell R570, through support for the Broadcom® 57412 NIC (10GbE BASE-T) and the Dell PERC H365i storage controller.
- AMD EPYC™ 9004 and 9005 processors, introduced in 9.7.6.
- SR-IOV for the NVIDIA® L4 Tensor Core GPU. Hardware-level GPU partitioning gives VMs direct access to GPU resources for AI inference, video and virtualized graphics.
- VM SMBIOS customization. Set the SMBIOS data a VM presents, for applications and licensing systems that rely on specific hardware identifiers.
- VM Secure Boot through the REST API. Turn Secure Boot on or off for each VM through the API, across a fleet, to help with the 2026 Microsoft® Secure Boot certificate expiration.
- SNMP monitoring through the REST API. Turn on and configure SNMP monitoring yourself, without opening a support case.
- LLDP network discovery. Nodes advertise and discover network topology, so you can see how each interface is cabled.
- One Touch node add. Add a node by updating the ClusterSpec through the web interface, CLI or API. There’s no command-line initialization step, and running VMs aren’t affected.
- Two nodes and a witness. A new Witness Mode initialization option runs a highly available two-node cluster, with rolling updates and automatic failover, using a small separate physical witness for quorum instead of a third node. The witness adds no storage or compute.
Clusters on 9.7.11 or earlier must update to 9.7.12 before they can update to 9.8.7 or later. See Update barriers.
