Introduction

ELFIQ Link Balancer hardware units and virtual devices provide link balancing and bandwidth management capabilities to ensure business continuity and enhance network performance.

This publication provides example configurations to help you understand how you can deploy ELFIQ Link Balancers in your network. It begins with a basic configuration, which is the foundation for the other deployment examples described in this manual. The scenarios range from a simple configuration with one unit to more complex configurations with multiple sites and multiple units. For each scenario, this document provides the following information:

  • A brief overview of the objective or purpose of the example.
  • Deployment information about the example, including a network diagram.
  • An explanation of the main concepts used in this configuration example, with recommendations that you can use in your own deployment.
  • A list of the supported hardware and software that you can use to implement the example configuration.

You can use these examples to help determine the number of physical Ethernet ports that you need in your Link Balancer, and whether you need to deploy switches.

This guide is intended for use by trained partners and end-users.

For complete configuration procedures, see the ELFIQ Link Balancer System Configuration Guide. For on-going administration and maintenance procedures, see the ELFIQ Link Balancer Administration Guide.
